course overview
The SAR course incorporates the use of one or more drones. In terms of the theoretical component, it is designed and delivered by highly qualified instructors with a solid understanding of the technical and operational aspects of drones and search and rescue procedures.
The course provides in-depth theoretical training on the laws and regulations governing the use of drones in search and rescue operations, as well as intensive practical training that covers all aspects of using drones in SAR operations, including flight planning, drone control, aerial photography, image processing, and data interpretation.
The practical training will be supported by realistic exercise scenarios, where participants will become familiar with operational challenges and difficulties that may arise in emergency situations.
Additionally, the course includes adequate training on emergency management, communication and coordination with other SAR operators and relevant authorities, as well as safety management throughout all phases of the operation. The course should be based on international best practices and regularly updated to account for technological and regulatory developments in the field of drones and SAR operations.
Participants must be able to pilot drones safely and responsibly, and have already learned takeoff, landing, and hovering procedures.
